Healthcare Assistants are a vital part of our MWL team. They support nursing staff and patients across a wide range of specialties, wards, and departments across the Trust.

We have exciting opportunities available across both Whiston and St. Helens sites at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospital. You must be available to work

ALL

required shifts over 7 days including earlies, lates, and nights due to service demands. The post-holder will carry out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse. Support the qualified Nursing Staff in maintaining high standards of nursing care to patients. Assist in providing an environment within the ward conducive to patient recovery and pleasant for patients and their families. Accept responsibility for specifically delegated functions within the ward deemed appropriate for untrained staff by the Nurse in Charge. Ensure all entries made in nursing documentation are correct, legible, and comprehensive, and countersigned by a registered nurse. Understand and adhere to all Trust Policies. Ensure the Health and Safety of patients, relatives, and other staff is prioritized. Working for our organisation

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Health Care Support, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience. Care Certificate, or willingness to work towards upon appointment. Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role. Knowledge of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults procedures. Experience within a care setting. Skills

Ability to manage time and priorities effectively. Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative when necessary. Other
