Job overview We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistants to support Ward 36 - Recovery and Rehabilitation Unit.

The ward is busy and you will need to be able to work under pressure at times. You will work within the established nursing team on Ward 36 alongside registered nurses, healthcare assistants and therapy staff providing care to patients on the ward.

Main duties of the job

Promotes a ‘can do’ attitude and determination to develop and sustain a dynamic and responsive clinical and administrative support service within a Community Hospital / Community Team setting which delivers best practice.

Promote and enhance the health and wellbeing of patients.

Promote and improve the patient experience / journey.

Empower patients and promote patient shared/self-care where appropriate.

To observe the general behaviour, ability and response of patients/clients and to record the information and report to qualified staff as and when required.

These range from district nursing, health visiting and running four community hospitals through to providing very specialist community care through talented and dedicated staff.

Person specification Training and Qualification

GCSE A*- D in English Language, or equivalent (e.g. Certificate in Adult Literacy at Level 1)

Level 2 QCF Diploma in Clinical Healthcare support OR Level 2 NVQ in Healthcare Health & Social Care OR Level 2 in Health & Social Care (NVQ, QCF, RQF)

Successful completion of the 15 Care certificate modules and practical competency assessment, within required timescales

GCSE A* - D, or equivalent in Mathematics (e.g. Certificate in Adult Numeracy at Level 1)

Experience

Experience of providing care in a healthcare or social setting

Experience of time management and prioritising work

Knowledge

Effective and appropriate communication skills both written and verbal

Ability to complete appropriate documentation accurately

Be able to work as a member of a team

Understands and committed to a caring approach to patients & relatives

Ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training within given time frames
