Health Care Support Worker - Ravenswood House

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

As a Health Care Support Worker, you will work closely with service users, their families, friends and carers. You will play an important role in ensuring those who use our services have a positive and supportive experience. You will need to be kind and responsive, remain professional and informative, and contribute to the quality of the services we provide. Good communication skills and a caring, supportive approach to working are essential. Experience is not essential as we will provide you with the training and support to ensure that your career in care starts off on the right track. Many of our current staff joined us with little or no experience, and once trained, you will have numerous opportunities to further develop your career within the trust. There are opportunities for progression to Band 3 HCSW roles. Ravenswood House is a medium secure unit providing assessment, care, and treatment for adults with serious mental illness. We provide high-quality care and treatment to 68 male adults split across four clinical wards. Our service is for people with serious mental illness and/or personality disorder who need to receive their care in a medium secure environment. Most of our patients have either committed a criminal offence or have challenging behaviour. We admit patients from high secure hospitals, local psychiatric hospitals, prisons, and the courts. You will need to be able to work a variety of shift patterns including nights and weekends. Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will provide physical and psychological care to service users in accordance with the specified plan of clinical care. You will carry out duties as designated by the person in charge and accurately record patient/service user information. Additionally, you will provide support to relatives/carers. About us
