Job summary This position is for a Healthcare Support Worker. No previous experience as a HCA or in care is necessary, however, you must demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, and a compassionate attitude towards working with patients.
Main duties of the job
To assist patients to carry out personal care including meeting hygiene, nutrition, and continence needs.
To assist patients to mobilise where appropriate.
Taking and recording of temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height, and weight on instruction from the qualified nurse. Recording the results appropriately and reporting any abnormalities to the Nurse or Nurse in Charge.
Testing specimens and recording the results.
Under the supervision of the qualified nurse, support patients undergoing clinical procedures ensuring their comfort and safety.
To restock departmental areas as required reporting any shortages to the NiC/Ward Manager.
Hours:
Minimum 23 hours per week (part-time) or full-time options available.

Job responsibilities
A commitment to completing all training including the Care Certificate if appropriate.
Desirable criteria
Healthcare related NVQ, BTEC or equivalent at Level 3.
National Care Certificate.
Maths and English GCSE passes at grade D or above.
Previous care experience.
Qualifications
Level 2 or 3 Healthcare related qualification.
National Care Certificate.
Maths and English GCSE passes at grade D or above or functional skills level 2 numeracy and literacy.
Communication and Learning
Good Written Communication.
Willingness for further development.
Experience
Demonstrates enthusiasm, commitment, and a compassionate attitude towards working with patients.
Previous care experience (desirable).
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
