Our business is growing and has ambitious plans, so it’s an exciting time to join our team. About the role At British Airways Holidays, the safety of our customers is our absolute priority. You will be a critical part of our promise to ensure the safety of our customers through global hotel validation visits, incident investigation, and assessing online safety checklists. This role involves international travel every third week for up to approximately five days. You will check approximately three hotels a day, conducting safety checks and validating that all standards are met against a predefined checklist. You will influence hotel partners on-site to ensure all checks are carried out and return on your non-travel weeks to write reports and input your findings into our in-house safety system. This is an opportunity for someone from various career backgrounds. You could be working at a NEBOSH general certificate level, in a Health and Safety team, or have exposure to health and safety in your role and want to take on a dedicated role in a Health and Safety team. The ability to influence others, work independently yet as part of a team, plan your work, meet tight deadlines, and follow strict procedures are essential. What you will be doing Conducting global on-site validation visits and assessing properties according to pre-defined Health, Fire, and Safety criteria. Writing comprehensive reports to agreed timescales. Reviewing Safety Policies for chain hotels as per agreed processes. Identifying and escalating Health, Fire & Safety defects. Monitoring assigned high-risk areas and ensuring compliance with restrictions. Managing assigned Coruson/AIR incidents and providing feedback to stakeholders. Identifying and implementing process improvements. Reporting to the Health & Safety Lead within the wider Health and Safety team. What you will bring Proven knowledge and experience of Health, Fire & Safety standards and processes. Ability to undertake extensive global travel. Strong report writing skills. Ability to work with overseas suppliers. Strong time management and planning skills. Open to learning new processes & procedures. Ability to work under pressure to meet timescales. Independent and self-sufficient with planning skills. Ability to follow instructions on policy and procedure. Strong influencing and people skills. Adaptability to change. Full UK driving licence and confidence to drive abroad. The following recognized certifications would also be beneficial: Food Hygiene Health & Safety Fire Safety Auditing Swimming Pool Auditing Risk Assessment NEBOSH General certificate or working towards it. The salary range for the role is £30,000 to £37,000 per annum, depending on your relevant skills and experience. This role generally works from our offices twice a week, with additional days as needed. Office days are coordinated for team collaboration, with mandatory days currently on Tuesday and Thursday.
