A.S.A.P. Bettridge is a Special School for pupils aged 2-19 who have a wide range of learning difficulties ranging from moderate to profound. Many have challenging behaviours and complex medical needs. A focus on empowering and supporting pupils to achieve the best possible outcomes is central to the role of all staff members. We are seeking to appoint a Health Needs Designated Teaching Assistant to support an individual pupil with a respiratory condition. The person recruited will work as part of a class team at Bettridge School. The new Teaching Assistant will be given full training for the specific health needs of the individual child. Their priority will be to co-ordinate with the rest of the team to provide 1:1 care for the individual child’s health needs. They will also be involved in supporting the teaching and learning of the individual child and other children in the class. 30 hours per week, 8.45am-3.15pm with half an hour unpaid lunch. We are looking for staff who are resilient and flexible and have the ability to work as part of a team to promote a love of learning for all our young people across all ages, abilities and needs within the school.
