We have partnered with a professional representative body in the health sector to find an ambitious Policy Officer to join their fast-growing team. If you are passionate about health policy and keen for a step up in responsibility and autonomy, this role will enable you to work with the Executive team to develop and implement the organisation’s goals, including keeping up to date with relevant sector issues and responding to key policy issues. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the policy and public affairs objectives to enable the development of health policy, regulations and legislation across the four UK nations Staying up to date with the political environment – this includes parliamentary activity, sector information and other relevant media Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to advance the organization’s national goals Drafting consultation reports, position statements and agendas for important committee members, updating them regularly on the organisation’s progress Carrying out effective campaigns alongside the Executive team through supporting research and analysis Key Requirements: Experience developing relationships with parliament, government, and other stakeholders in the public sector Proven track record of excellent writing and speaking skills Experience in “fact finding” research and presenting that complex information in a straightforward manner Experience working in a collaborative environment Whitehall/Westminster experience and/or experience in health policy is desirable but not essential At least two-three years experience working within a political setting – be it charity, civil service trade association, agency etc. If you have the relevant experience and this opportunity sounds interesting to you, please get in touch with a copy of your CV as soon as possible via the form below.
