You must be registered as a nurse/midwife on the UK NMC register, have a relevant first level degree, and be able to demonstrate evidence of post-registration qualifications and further professional development. You must be willing to undergo further training to advance your skills and knowledge in the field of health protection.
You must have extensive post-registration experience. Community experience and practical experience in the field of Public Health Nursing/Infection Control is desirable; experience in communicable disease and TB control would be advantageous.
You must have excellent analytical, judgemental, communication, and computer skills. You should be self-motivated and innovative. Being able to work autonomously and in a team are essential.
Normal working hours are between 8 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Friday. There will be a requirement to provide cover for the regional on-call health protection service and possibly weekend working.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
