Public Health Wales office - to be agreed with the successful candidate. The ability to work from home as well as from one of PHW's offices is essential. Offices are located in Mold, Swansea, and Cardiff. Public Health Wales (PHW) NHS Trust's Health Protection Team is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse or practitioner to join our All-Wales Acute Response (AWARe) service. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in health protection/public health, but also suitable for someone who already has some experience. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an integral part of AWARe service for a range of health protection issues. These include receiving statutory notifications of infectious disease, assessing them and formulating a response to them in conjunction with senior colleagues, as well as advising other health professionals and members of the public on matters relating to health protection and infectious diseases. The post holder will undergo in-house training, development and education. The successful candidate will be part of a team of nurses, practitioners, consultants, notification officers and administrative staff ensuring the provision of a high quality, effective and efficient health protection service across Wales. Much of the post holder's time will be spent speaking on the telephone and using a computer, so effective communication skills and basic IT skills are essential. The post holder will be required to participate in an out-of-hours rota. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome to apply. About us

Qualifications

Appropriate Registration Minimum of relevant degree or equivalent Experience
