This role is at the heart of our mission to ensure excellence in Health, Safety, and Quality across our Engineering operations in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. You’ll take the lead in managing our Health, Safety, and Quality Management systems, ensuring the company stays fully compliant with current Health and Safety legislation while maintaining our ISO45001 accreditation. Beyond compliance, you'll be instrumental in driving the continued accreditation of our Engineering operations to ISO17020—a vital part of our commitment to operational integrity. We’re looking for someone who can do more than just manage systems. We need a proactive leader who will inspire a positive, forward-thinking culture of Health, Safety, and Quality throughout the company—empowering our teams and embedding best practices at every level. Key Responsibilities:

Health and Safety

Develop, implement and maintain the Company Health and Safety Policy and Strategy. Maintain compliance with all relevant legal and other requirements, and advise Senior Management of any changes. Maintain an awareness of developments in standards and legislation affecting Health and Safety. Ensure a proactive approach to continuous improvement of processes and procedures. Develop and maintain up-to-date and compliant Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all work activities. Ensure HSB workplaces meet all Health, Safety and Welfare requirements. Manage Health, Safety and Quality related invoices and budget. Maintain records of all work-related accidents and incidents and conduct investigations as required. Report incidents to the relevant Enforcing Authority as required by current legislation. Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors. Chair the company's Health and Safety Committee. Act as main contact with all relevant emergency services and regulators. Development and provision of Health, Safety and Quality related training as required to relevant employees, included through external providers. Advise on suitable levels of Personal Protective Equipment as required to Operations. Represent the Company at relevant SAFed Technical Committee meetings. Provide technical advice with respect to Health and Safety Consultancy Services for HSB customers. Liaise with clients and respond to relevant enquiries on Health, Safety and Quality matters. Quality Assurance

Responsible for maintaining accreditations of ISO45001. Responsible for maintaining the two inspection body accreditations of ISO17020 both Type A and Type C. Ensure continued effectiveness of the Quality Management system. Ensure a program of internal Safety and Quality audits is developed and completed. There may be a requirement within this role to manage a small team. Key Skills and Experience

Essential

Detailed knowledge of ISO45001 standard and safe systems of work. Understanding and experience of Quality Management systems. Experience in a similar role. Able to deal with a variety of situations in a professional manner. React quickly to changing priorities. Excellent communication skills being a clear and eloquent communicator. A Customer Champion with the ability to establish teams with similar values. Adaptable team player who can enable others to respond to a changing business environment. Effective stakeholder and relationship management. Commercial pragmatism. Multi-site office experience with a large number of employees in the field is necessary. Desirable

Experience within a similar role in the insurance industry. Knowledge of ISO17020. People management experience. Key Competencies

NEBOSH Diploma. Chartered Membership of Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH), or working towards. Competent level of IT packages. Competent knowledge of Powerpoint and Microsoft packages. Multi-site experience (office, engineering and construction sites). Personal Attributes:
