Permanent Working with a well-established engineering company who are on the lookout for a Health & Safety Engineer to join their team based in Gloucester. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement safety programs. Enforce HS policy and procedures. Conduct internal audits/workplace inspections to identify conformity and non-conformance. Raise non-conforming records (NCR) where necessary and drive close out in a timely manner. Assist with accident investigations, reporting including root cause analysis and make recommendations to peers/line manager. Investigate near misses, unsafe acts, identify trends, recommend & implement improvements. Conduct risk assessments with stakeholders. Review/update risk assessments with stakeholders periodically. Communicate risk assessments to stakeholders. Conduct COSHH risk assessments reviews/updates with stakeholders periodically and communicate within the organisation. Assist in the maintenance of the company’s legal register. Manage Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 obligations and submit to compliance scheme. Manage PPE competent person checks and maintain records. Manage contractors on site including PTW/RAMS documentation for high-risk activities and maintain records. Manage contractors on site including dynamic risk assessments for low-risk activities and maintain records. Provide toolbox talks/training sessions as required. Use relevant HS&E tools including Plan Do Check Act, 6S, Root Cause Analysis, etc. to drive improvements. Qualifications & Experience
ONC/HNC/HND in Manufacturing disciplines. Experience in a workshop/manufacturing or production environment. NEBOSH National General Certification in Occupational Health & Safety. In-depth knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and understanding of ISO 9001. Internal Auditor qualification. 6S qualified (not essential).
