To provide comprehensive support to the site management team by ensuring that effective management systems are in place, which deliver the Company Occupational Health and Safety and Environment Policy and meet legal requirements. Enfield Our Enfield Bakery and Distribution site is one of the largest bakeries in Europe! We have 5 operating plants and around 500 colleagues who work a variety of shift patterns. At Enfield we have 40 different nationalities working together, and we celebrate our One Team family values. Our site runs 363 days of the year and operates 24/7! Based in Brimsdown in North London, 15 minutes from M25, 10 minutes’ walk from Brimsdown overground, connected easily to Liverpool Street Station via Tottenham Hale. We produce over 4.8 million crumpets per week, which is equivalent to 800,000 packets of 6 as well as producing a variety of other products. The Home of the Giant Crumpet, did you know there are 350 holes in a standard crumpet? Key Accountabilities and Measures

Plan and support the roll out of the National Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) strategy, ensuring that HSE best practice standards are developed and maintained on site that are compliant with statutory and company policy. HSE spend locally is within budget. Provide accurate, timely, legally correct assistance and sensible business led advice to line managers on site in all aspects of the Health, Safety and the Environment. Foster a positive HSE culture by ensuring the accountability for HSE is accepted by managers and employees. Acting as a coach and facilitator for line managers and providing appropriate tools and techniques. Identify HSE learning needs for the site (bakery and depot) and provide cost-effective solutions to meet these needs, through liaison with the TLandD Manager. Identify areas for improvement as a result of risk assessments, audits, accidents and incidents and ensure that these are followed to completion to ensure continuous improvement and learning. Understand, monitor and maintain the site’s (bakery and depot) performance against the requirements of the Warburton’s HSE management system. Recommend improvements to the HSE management system, taking part in company-wide improvement projects where required. Lead in conjunction with line management, initiatives designed to improve commitment at all levels, to continuously improve standards of HSE to benefit site performance. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role, ideally in an FMCG organisation. General knowledge of all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment with a good level of expertise in handling audit from internal and external parties. Good knowledge of Health Safety and Environment legislation. NEBOSH diploma or equivalent (or working towards). Chartered Membership (or working towards) of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). IEMA Environmental Foundation certificate, for permitted sites IEMA Associate Certificate. Knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS18001 management systems. Excellent communication skills: articulate, influential; persuasive; impactful verbal and written skills. Excellent relationship builder- establishing credibility and building rapport with both internal and external contacts at all levels. Problem solver: able to find a safe and compliant resolution to issues and promote safety as an enabler not a blocker. Decisive: able to make decisions, in a timely manner, and be accountable.
