Health and Safety Inspector

to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a key role with a reputable company specialising in residential projects, where safety and compliance are at the forefront of every endeavour. Our client is looking for someone with a proven track record in health and safety management within the residential sector. This role is critical to ensuring that all activities across their sites comply with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, company policies, and industry standards. As a Health and Safety Inspector, you ll be responsible for conducting thorough site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You ll verify that all works adhere to the project s safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS), while promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability. The role involves delivering toolbox talks and training sessions, investigating incidents or near-misses, and providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence. You ll maintain clear and detailed documentation of your findings, which you ll share with the management team to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Our client values strong communication skills, as you ll act as the vital link between site teams and senior health and safety personnel. You ll address non-compliance issues decisively and, when necessary, take immediate steps to enforce safety standards, including issuing stop-work orders for significant breaches. To be successful, you ll need: A strong background in health and safety, specifically within residential projects. Industry-recognised qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH. A deep understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., ISO 45001). Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills to engage site teams and resolve safety concerns effectively.
