And we owe our Health and Safety department a great deal of importance for their cooperation in making sure all our products are healthy, clean, and well presented. Our Health and Safety team are looking for a talented, well organized, and dedicated Health and Safety manager to take over the responsibility for improving the Health & Safety culture and to meet business needs and legislative standards across two bakeries. What will my role look like?
In your role, you will be responsible for delivering the health and safety strategies, supporting the Bakery management teams in both sites and improving the Health and Safety culture while managing the activities of both the trainees and advisors. You will also be monitoring and reviewing manufacturing processes to ensure all the health and safety requirements are met to ensure full compliance with legislative standards. Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and reviewing safety representatives & staff safety walks ensuring remedial actions raised are completed in a timely manner. Chairing each site Health and Safety committee and providing Senior Managers with minutes and actions. Improving the H & S management systems to continuously enhance culture within the business. Reviewing risk assessments and safe working procedures to ensure full compliance with company and legislative standards. Reviewing all aspects of health and staff training including new employee inductions and highlighting the training requirements to the compliance manager. Completing all scheduled H & S monitoring and formulating action plans. Arranging for calibration of all H & S monitoring equipment. Ensuring all staff undergo annual health surveillance. Conducting site health and safety inspections. Ensuring that permits to work are issued in accordance with company policy. Reviewing safety reports (e.g. Racking Inspections, Fire Risk Assessment, Insurance Reports). Completing accident/near miss incident root cause investigations to resolution. Skills, Know-how and Experience:
A technical/professional qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum. A proven track record of delivering HSE improvements. Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment. Experience in inspection/auditing management systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and share best practice. Ability to prioritise and organise workload. Proactive, innovative, flexible, and co-operative approach to work. Ability to work in a changing and flexible organisation. What's in it for me?
