Your new role: We are excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Health and Safety professional to lead the Health and Safety team. This role will focus on promoting a positive safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that Health and Safety is the top priority for the organisation. You will work collaboratively with various teams to maintain safe working practices while ensuring that service levels for external customers are upheld. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering ongoing H&S improvement projects each year. Maintaining the existing ISO45001 management system standards and managing the annual external audit. Leading and developing the Health and Safety team, motivating them to excel as experts while providing support across the business. Regularly reporting to the Board with key updates. Setting the Health and Safety strategy by analysing statistics to recommend improvements and drive projects forward. Chairing Health and Safety committee meetings. Keeping up to date with legislative changes and communicating their relevance to stakeholders. Ensuring that all statutory and scheduled inspections are conducted as required. What you’ll need to succeed: A commercially aware, hands-on approach to Health and Safety. Resilience, self-motivation, and a high level of integrity. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Proven negotiation skills. Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, with the capability to translate guidance into practical applications. A minimum of NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. Experience in managing and developing a team. Experience implementing safety improvement projects focused on cultural change. Lead Auditor for ISO45001 or equivalent management system standards.
