We are currently working in partnership with a Yorkshire-based housing association, who are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager on a permanent basis.


This will be a full-time, home-based position, with sites across Yorkshire, and a salary of £54,792 per annum + £2,000 car allowance.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of leading Health & Safety services across maintenance and construction teams, and will require a NEBOSH qualification.


Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Line managing a time of up to three Health & Safety Advisors
  • Supporting and guiding operational Health & Safety issues across the repairs, maintenance and construction teams
  • Delivering Health & Safety experience through development of the Health & Safety management system
  • Creating and implementing risk and safety assessments, safe systems of work, training, coaching, health & safety promotions, inspections, as well as accident/incident prevention and investigations
  • Working with the Learning & Development team to ensure appropriate training is identified and delivered for all
  • Developing and delivering a robust audit and assurance programme
  • Developing accident/incident prevention programmes, support on investigations


Experience, Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Health & Safety management experience in a technical environment
  • Our client is looking for somebody with outstanding people skills
  • Knowledge of CDM and contractor management
  • Experience of health, safety and environmental management systems (such as, ISO45001 & ISO14001)
  • NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ L6 Diploma, Health & Safety Degree (or equivalent)


Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Hybrid working - three to four days working from home per week
  • The right candidate must be willing to travel to the offices and site when required
