There is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic and innovative Health Visitors to join our friendly, supportive team in West London. This role is also suitable for newly qualified Health Visitors as we have an excellent established preceptorship programme to support your consolidation of the SCPHN course. We work with families in one of the most diverse boroughs in London to give children the best possible start in life by providing the most up-to-date evidence-based support. As part of our skill mix team, you will contribute to the delivery of the national Healthy Child programme across Hounslow, working closely with partners, such as GPs, children's centres and social care providing seamless care to the population of Hounslow. You'll also have an important role helping to recognise and protect vulnerable children. This post would be appropriate for a candidate wishing to complete a Health Visitor Return to Practice course, with a view to a permanent post on successful completion of the course and required practice hours. Any return to practice candidate would be paid on a band 5 rate, on a fixed term contract, until NMC Health Visitor PIN received. Main duties of the job

To work in a public health role in the provision of a comprehensive service to facilitate the improvement and maintenance of the health and wellbeing of children, individuals and families. This will be achieved by applying the key principles of health visiting: To search for health needs. To initiate and contribute to strategies designed to promote and improve health and to encourage individuals to take responsibility for their own health. Work collaboratively with all other agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The post holder will carry overall responsibility for individuals, families and communities in line with contractual agreements and within their sphere of responsibility. Working in collaboration with members of the Primary health care team, allied health professionals and other key members of statutory and voluntary agencies are key components of this role. Conduct comprehensive health assessments for children and families. Implement evidence-based interventions to enhance child development. Qualifications

Registered Nurse Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Nurse Prescriber Experience

Experience of working in a corporate health visiting team Experience of working with SystmOne or other electronic clinical system Experience working in Safeguarding Evidence of personal and professional development Experience of working with vulnerable families An understanding of research and clinical effectiveness Skills and Abilities

Able to demonstrate a commitment to the West London Trust values To be able to demonstrate corporate working Understanding of public health role around health promotion and preventative working Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Other Requirements
