Full Time (Part time available too), Permanent role. 36 hours per week x4 We are looking for warm and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our beautiful Fairmile Grange in Christchurch. As a Healthcare Assistant (Days) you will be an essential part of our dedicated team, working alongside Senior Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses to deliver personalised care. Your role will involve providing practical, physical, social, and emotional support to our residents. With sensitivity and respect, you will ensure that each individual's needs and wishes are met while communicating effectively with family, friends, and healthcare professionals. Flexibility is key in this role, as it will involve working every other weekend. We also require availability for one, two, or three 12-hour shifts per week, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. We can also offer alternative flexible working arrangements. The role: To assist in the delivery of care, planned and assessed by Senior Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses by directly providing practical, physical, social and emotional care. Supporting all residents in a manner sensitive to each individual’s needs and wishes, acknowledging their rights and beliefs at all times. Main duties and responsibilities as Healthcare Assistant Provide and deliver a high standard of nursing care (i.e. washing, mouth care, toileting, manual handling & mobility), recognising and meeting the specific needs of residents. Support residents who may have a wide range of differing requirements and whose needs may range from companionship and domestic support to personal care. Join and assist in hobbies or crafts, daily Wellbeing activities, entertainment, and home events. Write and maintain accurate records of care daily, maintaining fluid balance and dietary charts, recognising, recording and reporting all adverse findings to nurses. Support nutritional needs of residents by assisting with feeding and drinking, reporting on concerns about dietary intake to nurses. Accompany residents to appointments. Assist in the care of maintaining skin integrity over pressure points, recognising and reporting all adverse findings to nurses. Communicate with family, friends and other healthcare professionals on the resident’s behalf. Act as a mentor to new Healthcare Assistants participating in induction programmes and ongoing development of their practice. Skills and experience you need as Healthcare Assistant A positive and friendly attitude is essential. You actively demonstrate good communication skills. You have a caring and empathetic approach to work. Flexibility is required; the role will include working every other weekend. You are available to work one, two or three 12-hour shifts per week. Care experience is desirable; however, not essential. Benefits: Salary from £12 per hour and enhanced pay for bank holidays.
