Reporting to the Healthcare Head of Estates, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff. From managing diverse facilities projects to ensuring a high-quality, responsive Estates Service, your work will support the hospital's essential operations 365 days a year. We’re looking for someone with strong project management expertise, backed by a degree or professional qualification in Engineering or a related field. Construction and buildings knowledge, along with excellent communication skills, are essential for this dynamic role. What you'll do: Project Management: Lead and manage projects from conception to sign-off and final accounts, ensuring all activities are completed to contractual timescales. Specification and Tender Management: Produce specifications and drawings, communicate with contractors for tenders and costing, and review tenders to produce costing packages for Trust presentations. Budget Control: Manage budgetary control of pay and non-pay expenditure, ensure budgets are adhered to, and provide regular budget reports. Cost Management: Review and calculate all costs for additional works, considering future implications for maintenance programs and lifecycle elements. Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with the Trust, contractors, and in-house teams for project access and isolations, maintaining and improving stakeholder relationships. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with Health Technical Memorandums (HTM), Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM), health and safety legislation, and site-specific policies. Conduct risk assessments and review contractors' documents to ensure safety standards are met. What you bring: Mechanical, Electrical, or similar City & Guilds Qualification ONC, HNC or similar Sound knowledge of the CDM Regulations CAD or similar programme knowledge Sound Knowledge of Health & Safety Must satisfy a DBS check and Health check We are open to considering applicants who may have less experience but demonstrate the potential and enthusiasm to grow into the role.
