An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker with excellent communication skills to work as part of the Outpatient nursing team in Dorset County Hospital, South Walks House and Weymouth Outpatient departments. Outpatient's is a diverse, multidisciplinary environment which requires flexible and adaptable skills, an aptitude to learn and a motivation to develop your own skills. If you are a dynamic individual who enjoys a challenge and would like to join a team who are passionate about providing high quality care to their patients, then we want to hear from you. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to give high quality nursing care and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will consistently ensure that a patient's privacy, dignity and psychological well-being is maintained, at all times, as well as the care given is patient centred. You need to have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. The successful candidate will be required to rotate through all the Outpatients areas, main DCH site, South Walks House and Weymouth Hospital. Recent Outpatient Experience would be an advantage but not essential. In order to meet the needs of the service, the working pattern is flexible. In the future this may include weekend and evening working. About us

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS

Evidence of secondary education to include an understanding of literacy and numeracy Level 2 healthcare certificate (or willing to complete) or equivalent relevant experience Knowledge and Experience

Recent experience of Outpatient setting, beneficial but not essential Experience of working in a team under appropriate supervision Able to demonstrate an understanding of principles of effective communication and care giving Understanding of basic hygiene skills Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional Able to listen to advice from colleagues, agree a plan of action and implement Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and well being Awareness of manual handling of patients, using lifting aids Skills and abilities

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood) Ability to follow clear instruction and feed back to senior staff Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative IT literate Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team Manages stress levels effectively. Able to work in a busy environment and manage own workload Be able to speak English as necessary to undertake role Disclosure and Barring Service Check
