Receiving a salary of £38,665 per annum along with great additional benefits including pension, life and healthcare cover, Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
Fixed term contracts available until December 2025, working an average of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm.
What will this role in the Rail Vehicle Heavy Maintenance team entail?
Tasks will include fitting floors, panelling, seating, tables, windows and doors in the interior of rolling stock. Electrical tasks may include installation and replacement of traction and rolling stock components, carrying out modifications in accordance with specified procedures and ability to install and terminate vehicle control wiring harnesses.
Duties will include, although not be limited to:
Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader / Heavy Maintenance Manager/ Production Engineer within set timescales and to the recognised standards
Operate rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures
Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction
Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work
Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to
Carry out any duties within level of competence as requested
What will I need to be considered for this Heavy Maintenance role?
Experienced electrical engineer, qualified to NVQ Level 3, ideally with experience of working with rail traction and rolling stock, or commercial / heavy engineering
Proven experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle heavy maintenance activities (desirable)
Understanding of Depot Operations, along with working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering
