A door of opportunity has opened in Hepatobiliary (HPB) service for a nurse specialist to provide specialist care and support to people suffering from HPB Cancer at the Royal Derby and Queens Hospital Burton. You will ensure patients are supported within the specialist field and will work closely with the HPB Surgeons, Hepatologists, Oncology Consultants and wider team members. We are looking for someone who is passionate, driven and motivated. Substantial experience is desirable but not essential. The responsibility includes providing high quality care to our patients and having excellent, sensitive communication skills. Main duties of the job

As a HPB Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will have knowledge and experience of hepatobiliary disorders / cancers or previous experience as a CNS. Along with the existing HPB CNS team, you will support Patients, Consultants and the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialists. You will be a point of contact for the patients and their family and assist in coordinating their care through the cancer pathway, managing your own workload and caseload of patients. You will support all aspects of the patients' journey through the HPB Cancer pathway from referral, diagnostics and treatment - surgical, oncological, and supportive care. The role requires a registered nurse who has compassion, empathy and excellent communication skills to support patients. You will also have excellent organisation skills and be able to manage your time and workload whilst working independently and as part of the team. Working for our organisation
