We are looking for three dynamic, self-motivated, and proactive individuals who want to make a positive contribution to the governance of grassroots football in Hertfordshire. Hertfordshire FA recently took a significant step on its journey to achieving compliance with The FA's Code of Governance. The Code goes beyond the current ‘gold standard' for sport and aims to provide support and guidance to those running the grassroots game up and down the country, ensuring that local County Football Associations are run to the highest standards of corporate governance. For the first time, our Board will be led by an independent Chair, with the majority of directors also being independent, appointed based on skills and experience that will best serve the organisation. The updated Articles, which come into force on 1 April 2025, also establish in formal terms the primacy of the Board in the governance of the Association and introduce a maximum term limit of 9 years for those serving on our Board and Council. As part of this transition, we are now recruiting for three individuals who can contribute to our Board of Directors and who have experience and skills that could benefit the organisation. In particular, we are looking for individuals who can help support and develop the strategic, financial, and risk management capabilities of the Association. We would like members to consist of passionate individuals from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to help guide and drive our work. Ideally, we are looking to add those with knowledge or skillset from the following sectors, although ALL applications are welcome: Business Development / Management Law Degree / Qualification People / Human Resources Recruitment for these voluntary roles will be based on both the technical ability to fulfil the role and key behavioural competencies aligned with our organisational values of Honesty, Efficiency, Respect, Teamwork, Trust, and Honesty.
