Hargreaves Logistics operates a fleet of walking floors, tippers, and rigid vehicles, providing bulk logistics solutions to customers in the waste, agricultural, and minerals sectors. With several operating centres across the UK, our largest are located in Esh Winning, near Durham, and Great Heck. Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team at our internal workshop in Great Heck. The role primarily involves maintaining a fleet of bulk tipping trailers and walking floors, with some maintenance of Volvo/Scania tractor units/rigids. Working Hours: 4 on 4 off Monday: 4 AM - 4 PM Tuesday - Sunday: 6 AM - 6 PM Salary: Circa £48k – £52k per annum Job Responsibilities: Routine maintenance and repair of all vehicles and trailers. Diagnose and rectify defects. Carry out MOT preparation. Perform welding and fabrication as necessary. Attend vehicle breakdowns and roadside repairs as needed. Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements, including the use of protective clothing and equipment. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Recognised qualification (C&G/BTEC) or proven experience in fleet maintenance. Understanding of Health & Safety systems (Risk Assessments). Positive can-do attitude. Commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated with legislation changes. Valid Category C+E licence (advantageous). Welding experience with aluminium/steel (advantageous). Experience with walking floor trailers (advantageous).
