HGV Mechanic - Immediate Start

Fulltime - Permanent/Temp to Perm - Salary £15+ DOE - Hereford

Our clients, a family-owned company within the waste management industry, are looking to recruit an HGV Mechanic to their facility based in Hereford. This really is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company, working in a small team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other vehicles in the company fleet. Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes - PMI. Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness. Using diagnostic testing equipment. Defect rectification. Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled. Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.

Skills and Attributes:

Experienced, time-served HGV Mechanic - Desirable. Mech/Electrical qualification - NVQ. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge. Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and tools. Problem-solving and time-management abilities. Good communication skills for liaising with drivers and fleet managers. Knowledge of legal regulations for HGV operation and maintenance - Desirable. Highly organised approach. Ability to work to deadlines.
