HGV Technician - Communities - Fleet Job description 37 hours per week

Bridgend County Borough Council works in collaboration with South Wales Police to maintain its Fleet of up to 350 vehicles across the County of Bridgend. Do you have the passion to be part of our dynamic team and support our Colleagues serving our communities?

We are looking for a qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 to join our collaborative team based in our busy workshop located in the Bridgend area.

You will need a good understanding of a workshop environment and familiarity with workshop tools and equipment, all of which will be personally supplied on starting along with PPE Equipment. You will also have state-of-the-art Diagnostic equipment to repair all aspects of vehicles and Council Equipment too. Continual training will be offered to the successful candidate(s) to support our Zero Carbon vision for 2027.

Bridgend County Borough Council benefits from 25 days annual leave, plus a 4-day “family friendly” working week allowing a long weekend every 5 weeks, also bank holidays and being a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme. Our working hours are 07:00 – 17:00. No weekend working unless paid as overtime when demands prevail.
