The postholder will be part of a highly motivated Podiatry team working autonomously but with support (where needed) from a senior Podiatrist, in a community setting providing a high standard of quality clinical care. Working with patients at high risk of foot ulcers or with currently active foot ulcerations to support them with management of their foot pathologies. The clinician will have had clinical experience for at least one year and completed a programme of competences. The post holder will assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs. The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload. Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of Podiatric care to a variety of patients with a wide range of clinical needs including: Diabetes, Vascular Disease, Rheumatological disease, Wound management, Neurological disorders, Nail Surgery. Practitioners and staff at Band 6 require a critical understanding of detailed theoretical and practical knowledge, are specialists and have some leadership and management responsibilities. They consistently undertake self-development. Provide aims to deliver high quality, professional and customer focused services. Able to formulate specific and appropriate management plans including the setting of timescales. Able to conduct appropriate diagnostic or monitoring procedures, treatment, therapy or other actions safely and skilfully. Able to maintain records appropriately. Person Specification

Degree/Diploma in Podiatric Medicine Wound care experience Independent prescribing or working towards To have completed a preceptorship at band 5 Disclosure and Barring Service Check
