The Company and Role An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and passionate High Voltage Design Engineer to join a leading organisation specialising in designing and developing power conversion products and equipment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating innovative solutions while ensuring compliance with high-voltage requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with clients to define and agree on product specifications. Design and develop high voltage power conversion systems and related equipment to meet agreed specifications. Research and implement advanced design techniques, including higher stability, reduced noise, and faster polarity reversing, as required. Accurately document designs to support the creation or modification of complete manufacturing packages. Verify that designs meet specifications through testing, simulation, and calculation. Deliver projects within agreed timelines and ensure cost-effective, manufacturable, and testable designs. Ensure products adhere to all regulatory and legal requirements, prioritizing environmental sustainability by minimizing the use of hazardous materials and optimizing life cycle, repairability, and energy efficiency. Take full ownership of assigned projects from initial concept through to completion and provide ongoing support post-launch. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental, and health and safety management systems.

Required Skills and Experience

Strong knowledge of modern components, technologies, and manufacturing techniques. Familiarity with current regulations and their impact on design requirements. Experience with analogue control/systems design (desirable). Proficient in maintaining detailed and accurate records. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and customers. Understanding of PCB layout constraints and mechanical packaging considerations. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines. Experience following formal design procedures and methodologies, such as ISO 9001. Familiarity with schematic capture tools (e.g., CADSTAR is desirable). Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
