Veterinary Medicines Directorate Higher Executive Officer in the Director Support Office Reference number: 381432 Salary: £37,480 annum + 25 days Annual Leave + Pension Scheme with an average employer contribution of 28.97% Contract type: Permanent Working pattern: Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time Location: Addlestone, Surrey KT15 3LS The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our Director Support Office (DSO). In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient functioning and support of our Directors and Senior Colleagues. You will oversee a dedicated team of three, providing comprehensive support across various functions. Key Responsibilities: Leading, managing and developing the team Scheduling and organising the work of others including senior management team Producing high-quality written material Working in a busy, fast-paced environment on a wide range of work frequently delivering against tight deadlines Ability to multitask and continually reprioritise tasks while remaining calm and flexible Building effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders Drafting meeting agendas and compiling minutes and action notes for wider distribution Having a background as a senior personal assistant or in an equivalent role Possessing a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 packages (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) How to Apply If you're interested in applying for this position, we would love to hear from you!
