The Worcestershire Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIS) is excited to recruit an enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join a team providing support for those experiencing, or who may be developing, a first episode of psychosis. The postholder will work with a diverse group with a range of complex mental health needs. The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be valued for their ability to think psychologically and dynamically. They will also play a key leadership role in the team and will be supported with regular clinical supervision. The post is 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working between the two bases and other Trust sites. Main duties of the job

To act in a lead role for the development and provision of Psychological Therapies within the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service; providing professional management, guidance, and clinical supervision to psychological therapists. To promote psychological thinking and working within the team by offering psychologically informed perspectives on client care and consultancy. To contribute towards staff/team development of skills and knowledge through offering teaching and training. To provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, interventions, and evaluations of outcome for clients with complex mental health issues, social and relational difficulties, and groups, with the aim of maximising well-being, and social, emotional, and occupational functioning. The postholder will: Behave consistently with and promote the values and beliefs of the organisation. Undertake structured interviews, psychosocial assessments, and observations of individuals/groups. Using their initiative, be responsible and accountable in providing specialist psychological interventions, clinical and research supervision, and training to other health and care staff as agreed with the operational/service lead. Support managers and team leaders to develop services and improve quality in consultation with the service lead. Participate in national and regional professional specialty meetings and seminars as appropriate. Evaluate referrals, undertake/contribute to the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with psychological difficulties with a varying range of complexity and aetiology with reference to clinical need and service capacity. Person Specification

Experience

A minimum of 4 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist within the relevant area. Experience of leading in relation to the development and organisation of psychological interventions within a given clinical area. Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologists. Training and experience in the application of psychological knowledge across a range of mental health presentations, including organic illness, functional mental health, and physical health. Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with varying clinical severity across a range of clinical mental health presentations. Experience of multi-agency/multidisciplinary working. Therapeutic expertise in working with carers/families/couples. Experience of conducting clinically relevant research. Experience of strategic planning and service development. Training and experience in a specialist area of working within the clinical area. Experience of teaching and training psychologists on a Clinical/Counselling Psychology Doctorate training course. Qualifications

BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology. Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). Post qualification training/experience in specific, evidence-based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span. Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the BPS. Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS. Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist. I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at the point of offer. Post qualification training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis. Related academic qualifications to masters or doctorate level. Knowledge

Advanced theoretical and applied knowledge of psychological approaches for people with psychological problems including specialised psychological assessments and interventions for patients with complex psychological presentations and physical health conditions. Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis, as practiced within the field of Clinical/Counselling Psychology. Skills & Abilities
