: Mayflower Community Hospital Diabetes Nursing Team - NELFT (North East London Foundation Trust) Essex location NELFT's Diabetes Nursing Team is excited to announce an opportunity for Development post Band 6-7 Specialist Community / Diabetes dietitian for 15 hours a week as fixed term 12 months contract to join our Diabetic Nursing team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and confident professional to contribute to our growing team's success, delivering exceptional care across the mentioned localities. Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities: Highly Specialist Dietetics Assessment and Treatment for Diabetic:
Provide specialized dietetic assessment and treatment for adults in the above localities. Integration into Multi-disciplinary Team:
Provide nutrition and dietetic input for patients with complex diabetic needs within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a coordinated service delivery. Patient-Centered Care:
Demonstrate sensitivity, non-judgment, and professionalism in dealing with patients. Accountability:
Assume professional and legal accountability for all aspects of your work, including the management of patients/clients in your care. Communication and Time Management:
Possess excellent communication and time management skills to efficiently coordinate tasks and interactions with patients, carers, and fellow health professionals. Line Management and Training:

- Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate degree. - Significant experience as a specialist dietitian including home enteral feeding. - Experience in delivering Structured Education. - Strong communication and time management skills. - Experience in student training. Qualifications
Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate degree Registered as a Dietitian with the Health Care Professions Council Membership of the British Dietetics Association and specialist group Experience
Recent clinical experience of at least 3 years with UK NHS experience (minimum 1 year) Experience of working in a community setting, particularly diabetes experience Experience of working as part of a MDT Ability to deliver training both internally and externally to other staff groups. Experience of audit/research. Experience of developing protocols and clinical guidelines Knowledge
An awareness of NHS priorities Skills
Clinical knowledge & experience across a variety of disease states and diabetes Therapies Experience of: Enteral Feeding/Nutritional Support (PEG/PEJ/RIG/NG/NJ feeds) Experience of Type 2 structured education Effective organisational skills- to be able to prioritise and manage own workload within time and financial constraints Problem solving approach - to be able to identify, analyse and evaluate a range of complex dietetic & non-dietetic, patient & non-patient related problems Confident in line management support for junior members Experience of providing support to Students & actively take part in student training Experience of Type 1 structured education Other
