Highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist Band 7, Part-time - 22.5 hours per week There is an opportunity to join the Croydon Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team, as part of the Integrated Neuro Therapy Team. The team provides multidisciplinary rehabilitation for people who have a neurological diagnosis. In addition to Speech and Language Therapists, the team consists of Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Rehabilitation Support Workers, and Physiotherapists. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate significant experience and knowledge in assessment, treatment, and management of people who have acquired communication and swallowing problems following neurological events. As part of the wider Speech and Language Therapy staffing, you would be involved with VF clinics and we also provide a FEES service. We are committed to providing the best possible service to our patients and strongly believe in the continuing professional development of our staff, with regular appraisals and in-service training provided. Assess, develop, and implement Speech and Language therapy for adult clients with communication and swallowing difficulties. Employ highly specialist interventions for patients/clients and carers who have severe disability and/or terminal illness on a daily basis, and evaluate outcomes. Write reports reflecting specialist knowledge according to the standards of the Department and distribute these accordingly. Provide advice and training to others regarding the management and care of patients/clients with communication and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties. Demonstrate good negotiation skills across a range of issues, including case management in complex cases. Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by using evidence-based practice and outcome measures, care plans, and reviews with clients. Working for our organisation
