We're advertising an exciting opportunity for a B7 Speech and Language Therapist who has a keen interest in the specialism of dysfluency and or AAC. We are looking for an innovator who is keen to develop and transform pathways to meet the needs of the changing landscape of Speech and Language Therapy. Provide highly specialist triage, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and discharge recommendations to a range of children and young people with speech, language and communication needs. Assist in service development and innovation in consultation with managers and other team members. Provide highly specialist support via clinical supervision, shadowing, mentoring and second opinions for the members of the team. Liaise with the Team Lead about any issues in service delivery and develop plans to manage these. Communicate effectively with children and families, other team members and health and education staff. Lead on service development using your highly specialist knowledge and skills, including the development of policies, processes and pathways to enhance quality of patient care. Implement, monitor and evaluate new ways of working, including providing audits/outcome and progress reports on new workstreams. Deliver training to the wider children's workforce about a range of communication difficulties, including developing, evaluating and adapting training packages. About us

Experience

HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist Successful completion of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists recognised training course (degree or equivalent) Member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists Specialist knowledge of range of disorders, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and their management appropriate to the post Established knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions at a specialist level Experience of working within a team and independently Experience of liaison with other professionals & partnership working Good working knowledge of all areas of clinical governance including quality, audit & risk management Advanced clinical reasoning skills. Ability to present information in a clear & logical manner. Proven organisational skills including time management, effective delegation & prioritisation. Self-motivated and able to lead and motivate others within a team. Member of relevant specialist interest group CPD and experience in complex needs Research & Development awareness &/or experience Audit Experience own & others practice Contribution to service and staff development Previous experience undertaking a senior clinical role Leadership Skills
