As a Medical Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. You will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets across the UK. Histology: IDEXX Histology departments process tissue samples from animals, for diagnostic evaluation by our team of Veterinary Pathologists. IDEXX Histology Technicians and Technologists practice embedding, microtomy, staining and special staining techniques in their roles.

In this Role: Depending on your experience, you will be processing tissue samples for our Pathologists. You will also be involved in grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining and special staining techniques. You will be responsible for setting up and running lab tests, results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). You will perform and monitor inventory of supplies, equipment and reagents used. You will be working closely together and communicating with colleagues to exchange information and ensure efficient processes.

What You Will Need to Succeed: You will have a BSc in Biology/Biomedical Science/Animal Science/Zoology or equivalent. You are a go-getter, a hard worker, and someone with a passion for science, innovation, and the opportunity to work on behalf of global pet health. Ideally, you will have experience working in a laboratory, setting up, running, and reading lab tests. Operating laboratory equipment (microscopes and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers) would be a plus.

Schedule: This position is to be filled for the late shift. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
