The Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled History and Politics Teacher who is qualified to teach these subjects up to Key Stage 5. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire a deep appreciation for history and politics in our students. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in History and Politics. Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs and foster critical thinking and debate. Assess and monitor student progress, using data to adapt teaching strategies and support individual achievement. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental initiatives and curriculum planning. Participate actively in staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and historical-political learning. Organise and oversee subject-related activities, debates, and events that bring learning to life beyond the classroom. Ideal Candidate: Holds a relevant degree and a PGCE (or equivalent), with a strong background in History and/or Politics. Exhibits excellent classroom management skills and a passion for teaching History and Politics. Adopts a creative and systematic approach to teaching and learning, ensuring clarity and student engagement in lesson delivery. Upholds high personal and professional standards, with a commitment to continuous professional development. Demonstrates a proven track record in fostering critical analysis and student achievement in the Humanities. Communicates effectively with a diverse range of students, parents, and staff.
