Responsibilities: • Providing personal care: bathing, washing, showering, and preparing meals within a client’s own home. • Prompt medication and support clients to access the community (i.e., shopping and social activities). • Provide social support within the home at any given time of the day (live-in care included). • Take responsibility for the shift while on duty. • Liaise with other professional staff in carrying out care plans. Minimum Requirements: • Preferably should have a background experience in social care; however, we provide extensive training. • Holds an SVQ2, HNC in Health and Social Care, or is working towards the qualification or equivalent. • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. • A driving licence and car are essential. • Proof of right to work in the UK. • Successful applicants will be required to complete a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application and also register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting. Home Care workers should be able to: 1. Look after the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of the clients using a person-centred approach. 2. Observe and promote the client’s human rights and the principles outlined in the health and social care standards. 3. Evidence that care is based on dignity, respect, choice, compassion, wellbeing, and responsiveness to their changing needs. 4. Create and maintain good professional relationships with clients, their family and friends, and the wider agencies. 5. Adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and Potters Health Care’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
