Job Title: Homelessness Prevention Officer (Offenders)

We are currently looking for a Homelessness Prevention Officer (Offenders) to join our team on a fixed term basis until 27 March 2026. In this fast-paced role, you will be working with households facing homelessness to sustain their accommodation where possible or assist with securing alternative accommodation. You will support and provide advice to our most vulnerable residents at a time of crisis, working with them and empowering them to resolve their threat of homelessness. In the role you will interview and assess the needs of those people who present as homeless or potentially homeless, to establish the housing duties the Council owes to applicants in accordance with relevant legislation. You will develop personal housing plans to prevent homelessness and provide practical advice and assistance on housing options. Experience of working with vulnerable clients. A degree in a relevant subject area or significant knowledge gained through work experience. Ability to deal effectively with challenging situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage well with clients and partners. Salary grade on appointment will be determined by qualifications and experience.
