An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Horticultural Manager to join an award-winning property developer known for its impressive portfolio of some of the largest urban development projects. The Horticultural Manager will oversee a diverse range of estates, conducting regular inspections and promptly reporting any issues related to plant health, pest infestations, or landscape structures.

This role requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to managing the health and aesthetics of the landscapes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the estates are maintained to the highest standards, implementing best practices in horticulture, and coordinating with maintenance teams to address any concerns efficiently.

The Horticultural Manager will play a pivotal role in leveraging their expertise to manage comprehensive planning programs and ensuring that the portfolio of estates is maintained to the highest standard. They will oversee day-to-day horticultural tasks, ensuring all activities are carried out with precision and excellence. Working directly with residents and within the estate’s thriving community, the Horticultural Manager must possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to interact professionally and courteously, fostering positive relationships while maintaining the beauty and functionality of the estates.

Weekly feedback to the management team, detailing completed tasks, anticipated challenges, and upcoming projects will be required for the Horticultural Manager to be responsible for. This will include any needs for new plantings, replacements, or additional maintenance, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to uphold the estate’s high standards. They will also be responsible for monitoring and managing irrigation systems, ensuring all plants, lawns, and green spaces receive appropriate hydration. This includes assessing the system’s functionality, making necessary adjustments, and addressing any concerns that arise.

Candidates for this role should either hold a Level 3 Horticulture qualification or have at least five years of experience in a Head Gardener, Estate Manager, or similar role. A strong knowledge of plant care, landscaping techniques, and team management is essential.

SALARY: Up to £55,000 DOE
