Hospital and Community Pharmacy Technician

Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary

9 months fixed term contract

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician, with good communication and teamwork skills. If you are able to work under pressure and are keen to develop yourself, we would like to hear from you. We are keen to develop the roles of our technical staff and to support their training and progression.

We welcome applications from Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians registering in 2024.

Our Technical Team has a great reputation for providing excellent ward-based and community services.

You will need excellent organisational skills in order to undertake this role and be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure. You should have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines, and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient-focused service.

If you do not have the required experience/qualifications to meet the Band 5 position, you will be appointed to Band 4 Pharmacy Technician and are expected to achieve the qualifications and experience required to progress to a Band 5 post. There will be a requirement to participate in working extended hours, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

You will gain experience in dispensing, ward-based medicines management duties, medication reviews in community settings, and clinical trials.

Once trained, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a clinical technical service team, which will involve recording patient medication history and processing discharges at ward and community level. You will also participate in full dispensary duties.
