Housing Policy and Performance Officer £42,192 - £60,515 per annum Permanent Full Time (36 hours) Wandsworth, London Hybrid working: 2 days per week / flexible Are you a talented and self-motivated professional with a genuine interest in national housing policies and issues? As a Housing Policy and Performance Officer, you will join our Housing Department and be part of a team responsible for housing advice and homelessness, housing management of our 33,000 council properties, including dealing with anti-social behaviour, building safety, tenancy matters, and the delivery of affordable housing. Can you bring your adaptable and enthusiastic approach to support our mission? About the role Your role will be crucial to provide support to the Head of Housing Policy and Performance in the delivery of key housing policy analysis, policy development, service review, performance analysis, and project oversight, including undertaking and commissioning research and supporting funding applications. As part of the busy Policy and Performance Team, you will contribute to developing housing strategy and policy, promoting best practice, and helping front-line officers deliver effective services. While the posts are generic and work across the Department, you will be responsible for a specialised area of work. Working in the team will give you an incredibly varied learning experience, and likely areas of responsibility will include safeguarding adults, anti-social behaviour, fire and building safety, and working to improve the energy efficiency of the housing stock. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience Proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with residents, other departmental teams, and key stakeholders across the organisation. Well organised, with excellent written, numerical, and analytical skills and sound IT abilities. A passion for social housing with a background in the sector or in a policy environment. Ability to manage a busy workload with competing priorities, ensuring that targets and deadlines are met, working with limited supervision. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to achieve positive outcomes with councillors, colleagues, partner organisations, and the public. Ability to oversee the delivery of important housing projects and programmes, helping the continuous improvement of housing services in Richmond and Wandsworth.
