This is a great opportunity for an experienced and confident HR Advisor who is looking for a role which will encompass full HR Generalist support across the business. The postholder will deliver client-focused and pragmatic HR support to managers and employees and will also be responsible for payroll administration and reporting. There will also be exciting project work including EDI and wellness support!
Duties will include:
Work closely and meet regularly with Heads of Department to support them in the successful delivery of their services. Advise Partners, managers, and employees on ER issues, including PIPs, absence meetings, etc. With the Recruitment Coordinator and hiring managers, assist in the creation of job descriptions and conduct interviews as required. Work with Partners and managers to ensure appropriate learning and development opportunities are available to support business objectives. Manage monthly and annual payroll processes in partnership with the Accounts Operations Manager. Manage administrative aspects of the Firm's pension scheme. Work with the payroll bureau to coordinate the move from P11D benefit reporting to payrolling benefits. Produce regular statistical reports providing insights as to any change or data trend, including the bi-annual diversity report and Gender Pay Gap reporting. Lead, initiate and deliver the Firm's wellness programme, liaising with Wellness Partners, Operations Board, and HR team as appropriate. Be the main point of contact for the Firm's 'Pathways to Law' partnership and manage student work placements. Liaise closely with the Head of Compliance and the Firm's EDI Partner to introduce EDI initiatives. Assist the HR team with annual salary review and bonus rounds for all staff. Assist the HR Manager with shortlisting applications for the Firm's Trainee recruitment, Vacation Scheme, and supporting the delivery of assessment centres. Undertake project work for the department and other generalist HR services as required.
The ideal candidate will come from either a law firm or a partnership business, as you will have a good understanding of the structure, stakeholders, and operating function of a large organisation. You will have extensive experience with HR advisory work, working closely with and supporting line managers to guide and advise. You should be confident and strong in your approach, as you will have to deal with PIPs, coaching, and other sensitive HR matters.
Experience and knowledge of payroll will be advantageous as you will be working closely with the payroll bureau each month to ensure payroll is accurate and that any changes are made.
The ideal candidate must be numeric, analytical, and great with Excel, as you will be responsible for HR reporting on diversity, age, gender pay gap, and delivering statistics of the business to the partners.
