We have ambitious growth plans. And we’re looking for an HR advisor to join us as we take our firm to the next level. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far — as well as the progressive culture we’ve created. Our core values guide how we work with each other and our clients, as well as how we give something back to our local communities. All in all, it’s a great time to come on board and the Aberdeen-based HR advisor will play an integral role when it comes to recruiting the best talent for our firm in what is a competitive marketplace. While this is advertised as a full-time post, we’d welcome applications from those looking for a part-time role. This role is also suitable for flexible working. The role

Recruitment

As an HR advisor, you will work closely with colleagues to develop appropriate recruitment campaigns and attract high calibre candidates. The role includes: Leading the recruitment process when it comes to advertising roles and screening candidates. Arranging and attending interviews when required. Making offers and preparing contracts of employment. Contributing to maintaining accurate and complete personnel records electronically and within the HR management system: ensuring all records are up-to-date. Intern and trainee recruitment

Taking on the role of coordinating the trainee and internship recruitment process, you’ll work closely with line and functional managers and act as the HR focal point. Additional HR support

Other HR support includes: Sickness absence and holiday requests. Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures and systems, and actively implementing these across the firm. Providing reports and tender information. Onboarding and inducting new colleagues. Assisting with payroll administration, collating timesheets, maintaining payroll records (including SSP and SMP). Recording, analysing, and reporting HR data and metrics. Developing and implementing our people management strategy in conjunction with the head of HR and key internal stakeholders. Developing effective relationships with HR service providers, for example, recruitment agencies, benefits and payroll providers. Skills

With this type of role, it'll come as no surprise we're looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You'll have up-to-date experience in a similar HR role and will be able to demonstrate: A self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic attitude coupled with the ability to challenge where appropriate. IT proficiency, including familiarity with an HR database and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level. Practical knowledge and understanding of current and emerging general HR practices, procedures and employment legislation. Problem-solving and the ability to show initiative as well as work effectively within a team and on your own. Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines — all with excellent attention to detail. Role requirements

You’ll also be able to demonstrate: The ability to safeguard firm and colleague confidentiality at all times. Payroll experience is desirable, but not essential. You’ll also be able to travel to our other offices across Scotland (Edinburgh, Inverness and Stirling) when required. Why Ledingham Chalmers?

There are excellent prospects at Ledingham Chalmers for personal development, training, and progression in a supportive environment. Importantly too, this post comes with an attractive remuneration and holiday package as well as other bonuses subject to qualifying conditions, and an additional day off on top of holiday entitlement for your birthday. Joining our team is a great opportunity to work alongside experienced and friendly professionals and become a valuable member of a thriving firm. Our growth plans depend on having the right team in place, and your contribution will be instrumental to our success. In terms of CSR, our core values guide how we operate — and two that are particularly relevant are ‘give something back’ and ‘treat others well’.
