HR Advisor Overview

Seeking an HR Adviser with a customer-focused approach to provide expert HR support across all levels. You'll be the first point of contact for HR queries, advising on employee relations, recruitment, policy, and training. This role involves supporting critical HR projects, ensuring legal compliance, and driving employee engagement through strong communication and effective processes. You will report into the HR Manager and have 1 direct report of an HR Administrator.

HR Advisor Duties

Generalist HR Support:

Offer guidance on policies, best practices, and employment law. Recruitment & Selection:

Update job descriptions, manage candidate sourcing, and oversee the hiring process. Onboarding & Induction:

Manage new hire paperwork, deliver day-one inductions, and support smooth transitions. Payroll Administration:

Collate monthly payroll data and submit it for processing (new hires, changes, leavers, etc.). Employee Screening:

Conduct right-to-work, criminal record checks, references, and safety medicals. Data Management:

Ensure secure handling of HR data, records, and HRIS input. Performance Management:

Facilitate development plans, reviews, and manage sensitive employee issues. Metrics & Reporting:

Track KPIs (e.g., turnover, retention, absence) to support business insights. Policy Management:

Review, update, and enforce HR policies in line with current legislation. Employee Wellbeing & Internal Communication:

Promote wellness initiatives and maintain updates on internal platforms. Set team objectives, provide feedback, and conduct appraisals. Develop and reward the team, supporting growth through coaching and training. Uphold a positive work environment aligned with company values.

HR Advisor Skills Required

Strong HR knowledge, including employment law, employee relations, and recruitment. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite. CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent. Proven experience as an HR Adviser /HR Consultant or similar role.
