Our internal HR team of 14 people are a key division of our professional support team. We support the firm throughout the entire employee life cycle including talent acquisition, on-boarding, talent development, retention and off-boarding. We are looking for a HR Business Partner to join the team on a maternity cover contract to support with the full employee generalist lifecycle, providing support to a variety of teams across the firm, as well as management responsibilities. The role will also require leading on ER cases, conducting meetings and investigations on complex cases as well as advising managers on how to manage low risk ER issues. Key aspects of the role include: Advise Partners, Directors, Managers and team members on all aspects of employment, as appropriate in accordance with internal policies and procedures, best practice and employment legislation. Regularly update the Staff Handbook ensuring it is compliant with employment legislation, the firm’s practices and HR best practice. Ensure that the HR team’s working practices are accurate and up to date, as well as ensuring the firm remains compliant with regulatory requirements. Oversee the onboarding of new team members and subcontractors, ensuring all appropriate pre-screening checks are conducted, and any anomalies are dealt with. Support with the processing of the firm’s payroll. Provide day-to-day supervision and line management of HR team members. Ensure all HR related documents are uploaded to the firm’s Intranet as appropriate. Keep the HR Partner fully up to date on HR issues being handled. You are the right person for the role if you have: Proven experience or working as a HR Business Partner. Solid understanding of UK employment law. Experience in day to day supervision/line management of people. Strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to multi-task.
