We are looking for a driven and dedicated HR professional to join our team as a Human Resources Manager. Your expertise will be instrumental in the development and execution of business planning in line with top-level business objectives. Job Description: As HR Manager, you will play a key role in driving the success of the HR function within a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment, delivering high-level HR support to meet business objectives. Reporting to the HR Director for Rittal UK & Ireland, you will have responsibility for all HR requirements associated with 700+ employees. You will lead a team of four people comprising 3 HR Officers and 1 Training Officer. Your responsibilities will include: Senior Leadership and Business Partnership

Act as a key member of the senior management team, contributing to the development and execution of business plans in alignment with strategic objectives. Champion the integration of the HR function as a business-critical component, driving continuous improvement in people-related processes, policies, and metrics. Utilise data-driven insights to influence strategic decision-making and enhance workforce performance, employee engagement, and overall organisational health. Foster a collaborative relationship with internal stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and HR Manager to the leadership team.

Human Resource Management

Provide leadership to the HR team, ensuring the delivery of timely, high-quality HR services and effective resolution of employee relations matters. Oversee the implementation of robust performance management systems that promote accountability and reward excellence. Act as an escalation point for complex HR issues, offering guidance and ensuring consistency in approach across the team.

Compliance and Policy Development

Ensure all HR policies and procedures are up-to-date, compliant with legal requirements, and aligned with best practices. Collaborate with legal advisors on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment law and mitigation of risks to the business. Promote adherence to ethical standards and social responsibility practices throughout the organisation.

Organisation Development and Culture

Lead initiatives to foster a high-performance culture, leveraging the Investors in People framework to enhance organisational effectiveness. Drive efforts to improve employee engagement and satisfaction, ensuring the company is recognised for its strong culture and values. Collaborate with leadership to design and implement change management strategies that support organisational growth and resilience.

Workforce Planning and Development

Develop and execute workforce planning strategies together with the HR Director to meet current and future talent needs, ensuring alignment with business goals. Oversee recruitment and retention initiatives, including the design of graduate and apprenticeship programs to build talent pipelines. Drive succession planning and internal development pathways to nurture leadership and technical expertise within the workforce.

Employee Development and Training

Oversee the creation and delivery of targeted learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities. Provide coaching and mentoring to management teams, empowering them to excel in their leadership and people management roles. Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and employee career development.

Employer Branding and Diversity

Lead efforts to position the company as an Employer of Choice, enhancing its reputation as a desirable workplace. Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain and engage a diverse and inclusive workforce. Ensure competitive and appealing benefits packages that reflect industry best practices and support employee satisfaction.

Employee Health and Well-being

Partner with the Health & Safety department to oversee the provision of Occupational Health services and proactive well-being initiatives. Champion mental and physical well-being programs, cultivating a supportive environment that promotes work-life balance and long-term employee health.

Qualifications and Experience: We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. To be considered for shortlisting, you must have the essential qualifications and skills: Essential Degree or equivalent in Human Resources or a related field Extensive knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. Creation and maintenance of compliant HR policies and procedures, managing risks effectively Handling complex employee relations issues while ensuring legal compliance and organisational fairness Workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, and succession planning Microsoft Office Suite of products Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels. Empathic and trusting leadership style A minimum of three years’ experience in a senior HR Manager/similar role in a manufacturing environment Extensive experience of owning an HR function and managing the full range of HR activities. Desirable CIPD Level 7 or equivalent SAP / Success Factors knowledge Utilisation of AI tools Knowledge of the Investors in People framework Graduate and apprenticeship programs and strategies to address future skills gaps Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Able to influence, motivate and engage teams and individuals to achieve challenging objectives. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions. Highly experienced HR and people manager. Working in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Successful implementation of large-scale HR and/or workforce development projects.
