We are delighted to be working exclusively with an independent school in Tenbury Wells, continuing its long history as an outstanding educational establishment, but beginning a proud new chapter in 2025. The school is seeking to appoint an efficient, dynamic and well-organised HR Manager to support the Senior Management Team in leading on all aspects of the HR function. The HR Manager will be responsible for: Oversee, advise and assist with all staff recruitment from placing adverts, to shortlisting and interviewing, to securing the appointment and implementing initial staff training. Process recruitment checks for successful candidates. Prepare offer letters and contracts of employment to all staff and self-employed third parties. Provide advice and guidance in relation to absence policies and procedures. Advise and support the SLT on a range of staffing issues, for example disciplinary, grievance and capability cases. Organise staff inductions and contribute to the organisation and development of training for all staff. Manage and develop the online compliance training under the direction of the Headteacher and ensure this is carried out by all staff. Responsible for ensuring that the school is compliant with, and that all staff are aware of, relevant policies and regulations such as the Safer Recruitment Policy and the Employment Manual. Update HR policies to ensure they are compliant with current Employment Law and School regulations. The successful HR Manager will be educated to degree level in a related subject, and HR experience from within an education setting is essential for this role. You will have a good understanding of standard and implied contractual terms and conditions of employment for teachers and support staff, ISI regulatory requirements and Keeping Children Safe in Education. The HR Manager will possess excellent written and verbal communication and all-round organisational and administrative skills. A natural leader, you will be able to make quick decisions and respond flexibly and adapt to changing and challenging circumstances. This is a highly operational role, demonstrating successful management of multiple workstreams and prioritisation. This is a part-time position working 25 - 30 hours per week, term time only. Flexible working is available. In return, the school offers a free lunch and refreshments during term time, use of the gym and free on-site parking.
