Position Overview:
As the HR Systems and Information Manager, you will apply your technical expertise to optimise, design, and develop various applications and information systems (including iTrent) to support not only the HR team but the wider business. This role will ensure the efficient management of HR systems, promoting data accuracy and processing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
System Development and Management:
- Lead the configuration and technical development of the HR and Payroll system (iTrent), managing phases of development, upgrades, and installations.
- Administer user access, security profiles, organisational structures, and data quality within the HR and payroll system.
- Innovate reporting solutions using Business Objects to enhance management information delivery and improve service.
- Develop and implement structured procedures for handling change requests, assessing potential risks and impacts on infrastructure and data integrity.
- Provide detailed documentation for all system changes and new developments within HR systems.
- Develop effective communication and data transfer methods between HR systems.
Advisory and Support:
- Work closely with the Head of Reward & Information Systems to advise on IT-based HR services within iTrent, focusing on payroll, HR administration, online recruitment, self-service, and management information.
- Lead efforts to coordinate MI systems across the organisation.
- Support scoping, requirement gathering, and stakeholder engagement for complex systems development projects.
Data Management and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and efficient management of statistical data returns in line with funder and statutory requirements.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data for internal and external use, including benchmarking data.
- Work with auditors to maintain system integrity and implement necessary changes.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Design and deliver training on the use of HR information systems and best practices to HR staff and other users.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the MIS team, ensuring high professional standards and efficient resource management.
- Support continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain up-to-date knowledge and ensure excellence in service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in HR systems administration, particularly with iTrent or similar HRIS/Payroll systems.
- Strong technical skills in system configuration, data management, and reporting.
- Familiarity with web-based technologies and best practices for system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards, particularly in higher education or public sector settings.
- Ability to lead teams, manage projects, and deliver technical solutions effectively.
