About the opportunity: Jacobs are recruiting for a professional Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor, with experience in the identification and mitigation of HSE risks. This North-West based HSE Advisor role reports operationally to the Strategic Markets Operations Director and functionally to Jacobs Head of HSE for Decommissioning and Regeneration Solutions. The post holder will provide HSE leadership and advice on all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related issues in support of the Strategic Markets business objectives. The HSE Advisor works closely with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with Nuclear, Radiological and conventional safety legislation, guidance and industry best practice, and the active implementation of Jacobs BeyondZero and the Culture of Caring. The HSE Advisor will provide advice, support and monitoring of the behaviours and safe systems of work for the performance unit and the role requires the candidate to understand and work with Management Systems aligned with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001. This role will require travel to the Strategic Markets business and project locations. Responsible for: Provide the business with competent HSE & Radiological advice and actively support the implementation of Beyond Zero. Support the implementation of legislative requirements and Jacobs HSE standards in coordination with business and project management. Maintain a proactive approach to nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental safety at all times. Advise and support office, laboratory, site and project teams on hazard identification, the preparation and implementation of safe systems of work and risk assessments. Monitor compliance to HSE standards; including monitoring and reporting at the business operational project reviews and administrative reviews; conduct scheduled field visits and inspections, recommend and follow through on corrective actions. Conduct HSE communications meetings with senior management, supply chain partners, contractors and joint HSE committees, participate in client safety meetings, as required. Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents for root cause identification, and recommended preventive action. Provide advice to ensure Construction activities are undertaken in line with CDM requirements. Support and make regular visits to off-site offices and project activities, ensuring HS&E procedures are embedded. Develop and provide bid responses for enquiries and tenders, and monitor supply chain HSE compliance. Here's What You'll Need: Technical expertise in Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and implementation. Competent in the application of UK HSE and CDM Regulations. Experience of working in a highly regulated regime. Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards and best practices. NEBOSH Diploma or degree equivalent. Membership of IEMA e.g. PIEMA and environmental training or working towards. Relevant experience in engineering/construction environment.
