Green Highland Renewables, a leader in hydropower development and operations across the UK, is seeking a skilled HSE Engineer to join our team. As part of Voith Hydro, we provide cutting-edge hydropower solutions, and this role will be essential in supporting the safety, compliance, and operational integrity of our hydropower projects.

HSE Engineer (m|f|d) Job ID 75467 | Location Perth | Permanent and Full-Time

Responsibilities: Documentation Review & Compliance: Review and ensure all documentation, including HSE Plans, Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments, and others, meet the requirements of CDM 2015 regulations and are in compliance with UK laws and best practices. Process Development: Develop and integrate a "Safety-in-Design" process into the company's existing procedures, focusing on embedding safety considerations from the early design phases through to implementation. Collaboration & Client Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries and ensuring effective communication on HSE-related matters. Site Audits & Inspections: Perform regular site visits across various locations in the UK to conduct HSE inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company standards. Risk Assessment & Control: Lead the risk assessment process for operations, identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and recommending controls to mitigate risk. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into any safety incidents, ensuring that root causes are identified, and corrective actions are implemented. Training & Support: Provide training and support to site teams on HSE procedures, ensuring they understand and comply with safety standards. Your Profile: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar HSE role within engineering or construction. Recognized health and safety certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH National General Certificate, or NVQ Level 5+ are highly desirable. NEBOSH National Diploma is a plus for advanced positions. Strong process development skills, and implement HSE processes, particularly in "Safety-in-Design." Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and experience in reviewing related documentation. Experience with COSHH assessments and risk management. Ability to develop and implement HSE processes, including "Safety-in-Design." Excellent communication and client management skills. Willingness to travel to various sites across the UK for inspections and audits. Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and using HSE-related software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
