Our client, an EV Charging Solutions Company, is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join their dynamic and passionate leadership team to help them embed our core values into all aspects of safety compliance across the business. This position is Field-Based with business trips to London.

Base Location:

The location is flexible, offered as Field-Based, and will require the position holder to be in various locations in the UK & Ireland field meeting with our contractors and suppliers, as well as spending time at the Canary Wharf head office.

Working Pattern:

This role is offered on a permanent Full-Time basis of 37 hours per week, 5 days per week Monday to Friday.

The Requirements:

The HSE Manager will ensure that the client can successfully drive Safety, Health, Environment & Quality performance, to deliver safe outcomes and meet HSE targets. This includes responsibility for:

Culture & Leadership:

Promote a culture of safety and learning at all levels

Advocate for customers in HSE related issues

Communications & Learnings:

Represent HSE in external & internal forums to enhance engagement

Foster a learning organisation by sharing lessons learnt & best practices

Digitisation & Analytics:

Track incident trends & monitor progress on HSE KPIs

Leverage digital tools to enhance HSE efforts

Operations & Risk Management:

Implement & align HSE programs & standards

Support audits & ensure compliance with HSE systems

Conduct risk assessments with line managers, contractors and employees

Governance & Competency:

Ensure HSE assurance processes are in place

Stay informed and update HSE standards

Lead HSE workforce planning, training & capability development

The Position:

This senior management position has responsibility for ensuring that it supports the delivery of safe outcomes and performance improvement. They will support the client in its endeavours to keep people, assets and the environment safe from harm.

The HSE Manager will build and maintain firm relationships with key stakeholders including Regulatory Authorities, Industry Bodies, Designers, Contractor Management Teams and Site Operational Teams.

The HSE Manager has HSE responsibilities for key Operational Assets, Development and construction projects within the client across the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management and/or hold a scientific, environmental, civil, electrical or mechanical engineering qualification or sufficient industry experience

Registered member of IOSH or equivalent professional body (or desire to work towards)

Good understanding of Management Systems, HSE Risks & UK and Ireland Legal Framework

Providing advice, support and guidance to permit to client Project/operational teams to be best placed to manage HSE risk

Determine degree of statutory compliance and anticipate the potential impact of new legislation
